Creatures are spilling through the fade from a giant breach between realities. Unlike the first two games, Inquisition focuses in on the veil between worlds. It has many of the same elements that made the first game great, but with the addition of a larger cast of characters, storylines, and open-world game play. Dragon Age: Inquisitionĭragon Age: Inquisition is the latest title to come out of the series, and it is excellent. So all-in-all, I’d suggest you play Dragon Age: Origins before I nquisition if you’re just getting started. Between Morrigan, Alistair, and Leliana, there was a lot of great dialogue to get lost in. The characters themselves are really what made this game what it was. It starts out with a vibe very similar to games like the Witcher and then dives deeper into the story by letting the relationships you build decide the fate of the story. And while it may just be nostalgia talking, I believe Origins gave us the most depth out of everything in the series.

If a Dragon Age Netflix series ever happened, I’d want it to be based on Originsĭragon Age: Origins also has the advantage of being the first title to gaze into this exciting world of magic and darkness. And while all of these elements are also present in the newer games, they just didn’t feel as rich. It had intrigue, romance, epic battles, and the kind of deep character building I crave. In my humble opinion, Dragon Age: Origins was the best Dragon Age game to date.

And while you’re at it, look for more games like Dragon Age to play in your free time. But if you haven’t already played them all, you really should see for yourself. I’ve played all of these games all the way through, and there are clear pros and cons to each game. While we wait patiently for Dragon Age 4 to arrive, let’s take a moment to look back and rank the games from best to “still good, but not as good.” There have been three Dragon Age games so far with the newest title still in production.
